help buyin barrel horse?
ive been looking at horses for sale and i have been running into trouble 
lol i found a few horses for cheap but they are saddle breds and gaited horses.....one of them was an azteca but was already under months of training in dressage ... can i take a horse that is a dressage horse and turn him/her into a barrel horse ? iv seen a few ppl on youtube barrel race saddle breds and they looked pretty flashy ... i need help please also any tips on looking for a barrel horse...im a begginer with barrels i know everything there is to horsemanship and english but barrels i am new on so i dont want a horse thats going to jump from the strt line lol... i was thinking of getting a horse that is "started" on there patterns so i can teach myself as well as the horse ... idk any ideas please... help lol ........oh and this will be my FIRST horse that i will own soo

I actually have a horse that I am about to try and sell. She is a 17 y/o quarter horse mare, but I would bet she is still capable of running as fast as any horse on lower level barrels (or probably even 2d or 3d if she was conditioned). I showed her as a 9 y/o in pleasure/horsemanship/trail/showmanship. So she's a good horse. I haven't rode her much since, but she still acts nothing like her age. And shes sound. I've been starting her on barrels and speed and control(for fun), and she walks calmly in the gate and doesnt take off until you ask. If at anytime whether 2 strides or 100 strides once she has started to run she'll stop with a "whoa." If you're anywhere near ohio. and might be interested, let me know and I'll post her ad on here. price is negotiable
If you're not a timid rider I think she would be perfect for your needs. If not her, than a horse like her. Well trained, older horse, not overworked on barrels, but not completely new either.
